Jumpbooks are textbooks with enhanced functionality that are available in digital format. These digital books contain all of the same pages and illustrations as the printed version in full colour. When you purchase a Jumpbook, you are purchasing an access code that entitles you to access or download a digital copy of the physical book for use on your computer. In store, individual shelf tags will indicate if a Jumpbook is available for a specific course. Online, the Jumpbook will be listed as an eBook alternative to purchase if its available.

Jumpbooks partners with two popular ebook providers: Copia and VitalSource.

How to purchase in the store

Take the Jumpbook tag to the register. The cashier will scan the Jumpbook tag like any other textbook. Your receipt will print instructions to access the Jumpbooks website. REMBEMBER TO KEEP YOUR RECEIPT.  This will have your access code, which is required to access your book.

How to purchase online

Add a Jumpbook to your shopping cart like any other text. The fulfillment officer processing your order will forward the order to the eBook Buyer.  You will then receive an email with your access code and instructions on how to download your eBook from the Jumpbooks website.  Please make sure you have submitted a valid email address that you check regularly, as the activation code will be in this email.

Please note: Jumpbooks will be specified as "EBOOK" or "EBOOK RENTAL". If the Jumpbook is also available as a printed book, there will be note "Alternative". Do not order both the Jumpbook and the printed version of the same book.

How long can I keep my Jumpbook?

Most Jumpbook titles will expire within 180 to 360 days. The Jumpbook expiration date can be located on the back of each Jumpbook tag in the Depot. The time until expiration begins at the moment you activate your Jumpbook, and the number of days left in your subscription shows in your Jumpbook bookshelf.

Can I print my Jumpbook?

Jumpbooks provided by Copia cannot be printed. Jumpbooks provided by VitalSource can be printed, but the printing limits are determined by the publisher on a book by book basis.

Can I read my Jumpbook without being connected to the Internet?

Copia: Yes, once you have downloaded it to your device.

VitalSource: Yes, you may download your book to read offline using the Vitalsource Bookshelf app.

Can I return my Jumpbook for a refund?

You may return a non-accessed Jumpbook by bring your original sales receipt to the store.  Refund Policy dates apply.

Jumpbooks provided by Copia are not eligible for a refund if they've been accessed. Accessed means you've added the title to your jumpbooks.com account and clicked the access button to begin reading your book.

Jumpbooks provided by Vitalsource are eligible for a refund IF the following conditions have been met: a) It has been less than 14 days since the book has been accessed from your Jumpbooks.com bookshelf and b) If you HAVE NOT revealed the code for any online resource supplied with the ebook.

Can I use my Jumpbook on my iPhone, iPad, Android, or other mobile device?

Copia: You can read your Jumpbooks provided by Copia on supported mobile devices: Android mobile devices and iPads. You will need to download a free application. The Copia Class App for iPad is available through the App Store. The Copia Class App for Android devices is available through the Android Marketplace.

VitalSource: You can read your Jumpbooks provided by VitalSource on supported mobile devices using the VitalSource Bookshelf app.

Creating an Account

At the Jumpbooks website, first time users will create a username and password for maintaining all of their Jumpbooks. Once the account is created and you are signed in, follow the instructions to redeem your access code. You must use the transaction number found at the top of the receipt and the Basket ID from the bottom of your receipt to redeem your Jumpbook. Follow all other instructions on the Jumpbooks website to select which version you wish to use and access your content. All customer support is provided through the Jumpbooks website.

How do I contact Jumpbook for technical questions or assistance?

Email Support with the following information:

- Steps to reproduce the problem (in as much detail as possible)
- Exact text of any error message (screen shots are helpful)
- URL(s) of any error page (s) you encounter
- Title(s) of problem download(s)
- Download or Online viewer version
- Receipt number and access code
- Operating system (Windows XP, Windows 7, Mac OS X, etc.)
- Internet browser and version (Internet Explorer 8.0, Firefox 6, etc. In most browsers, find this under Help> About.)
- If applicable device type and operating system.
